Despite the fact that it’s NOVEMBER and it’s still 90 DEGREES here in Los Angeles, my thoughts are still turning to boots. In addition to the ones from Sundance that I featured recently, I’ve long been in love with some of the classic styles offered by Frye, such as the Engineer and Harness styles.
They’re sturdy and timeless and would be worn forever, but they’re around two C-notes a pair. Kind of a lot for something that in these parts only gets worn between, say, December and February.
Which is why I was really happy to find Dingo boots, a brand I remember from my 1970s childhood, at Comfort Shoe Shop. The Women’s Harness Boot is every bit as classic as the Frye version, but much more reasonably priced. I think these have bumped new Keens from the top of my wish list!
Of course, after spending $1100+ today to bring my aging Corolla back from the dead, new boots remain but a dream. Sigh.
For those of you who aren’t experiencing the horror of watching your bank account drain directly into your car, the Dingo harness boot is available for $113.95 at Comfort Shoe Shop, with free shipping and no tax. And, they come in both medium and WIDE widths. Woot!

I just got a gift certificate to a local store for my birthday… maybe I’ll try on some Frye boots to see if they are comfy!
(Thanks to the gift certificate! They sure are rich for my blood!)
