If you haven’t already seen it, this interview with Maira Kalman is worth checking out.
How do you create the best circumstances for inspiration, serendipity, ideas?
I try to take long walks and breathe deeply and stare at people going about their lives. I drink coffee and stare some more.
I’ve been feeling incredibly uninspired lately, in the roundabout of commute/work/moving/commute/work. I think those will be my new words to live by, in the hopes that this will change.

I have loved Maira Kalman for many, many years. Isn’t she awesome?
Hope all is going well. I got some cute new wedge Keds, dude!

What do you mean by “uninspired”? Depressed? Not wanting to knit? Bored? I’m definitely bored these days. I blame my job and not being able to drive.

When I read that statement, I though it was by YOU yourself. It could be, Chez Shoes: it fits.
Keep walking–and staring. And don’t give up on coffee; it’s become my most faithful companion.
PS–am really getting into LL Bean’s handsewns these days–not at all attractive shoes, but very comfy and good for strolls.
