Does one wristwarmer count as a Finished Object? Because if it does, ya better sit down, ’cause – shocking!! – I’ve got a FO for ya!

Wristwarmer1

We won’t get into the fact that there’s a bit of a mistake – I dropped a stitch and didn’t know it for a couple of rows. Okay, we’ll get into it. I’ve never dropped a stitch before – ever – even waaaay back as a newbie. So, of course I don’t know how to fix it, and as ripping and starting over kind of violates my general whatever-happens knitting philosophy, I just kept going. And it’s okay, really.

The pattern is the wristwarmers from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, of course. I love everything about this pattern: the Noro Cash Iroha yarn, the little bitty 8" circs, the spiral rib pattern. And, of course, the near-instant gratification – I’m not the fastest knitter out there, but I can finish one in a couple of hours, so this is an easy two-evening project – even with a pile of homework sitting there guilt-tripping me. There will be many more of these in my future!

A note on the needles: these things are hard to find. I traipsed all over San Francisco in the rain last December looking for some, and was even told, with attitude, by the ladies in my LYS that plastic 8" circs do not exist. Well, there they are, thanks to the nice Jimmy Beans folks! Not only are they cute and Japanese, but they’re great for those of us who have metal sensitivities. And great for those of us who really could live the rest of our lives quite happily without ever encountering DPNs again!
